Mrs. Shelley joined the Board of Directors in 1989. She currently serves as the Secretary and also chairs the legislative committee, serves on the personnel committee, and the development, publicity, and planning committee. Her dedication and expertise in the political arena has helped Pony Bird in understanding new legislative issues and as well as representing Pony Bird in areas of concern.
	Mrs. Shelley is a Sales Administrator for The Solae Company, which is a joint venture between Bunge and DuPont. She achieved her Chancellor’s Certificate in Business Applications from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 2003. She has served as an Alderwoman for the City of Pevely for six years. She was recently appointed by Governor Holden as a member of the Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board for the State of Missouri . She was elected to the Joachim Township Committee. She is also the Treasurer of the Pevely Lions Club. Her family includes husband David, son Jacob who attends CMSU in Warrensburg , Missouri and is in the Aviation Program which allowed him to attain his Pilot’s License, and son Nathan who has lived at Pony Bird for six years. Mrs. Shelley’s vision for Pony Bird is “Residents continue to receive the exceptional care and educational needs they require to lead a normal, productive life. This means treating them with respect and a dignity.
