Mr. Hockensmith along with his wife Sue co-founded Pony Bird, Inc. in June of 1977 in honor of their son Philip. Since then he has continued to serve on the board as a director and currently serves on the finance committee.


Professionally, Mr. Hockensmith is the President of Hockensmith, Tatlow, McKinnis P.C. located in Des Peres. He is a graduate of the School of Law at the University of Missouri-Columbia. His expertise in the legal arena and his dedication to supporting our mission has helped to ensure that Pony Bird continues to be held to a higher standard.

Mr. Hockensmith is very active in the community. From 1978-1980 he was served as a chairman for the Jefferson County Commission for the Handicapped. He is a member of the Missouri Bar Association and served as a director to the Missouri Family Trust from 2001-2003. He is a member of the Manchester United Methodist Church . Mr. Hockensmith also serves as a lawyer to many other wonderful organizations such as the Judevine Center for Autism, Jefferson County Developmental Disabilities Resource Board, and for the Autism Society of America from 1994-2001. In 2001 he and his wife received “The Distinguished Service Award for Outstanding Contributions for the Field of Mental Retardation.” From the Missouri State Chapter of American Association on Mental Retardation. His family includes his wife Sue, daughters Angela & Laura, and late son Philip.
